Bodypump: How good is the endurance of your muscle groups?
Share
Bodypump, are you familiar with this form of exercise? It's a group class, but you can also easily do it at home. The advantage is that you can choose which muscle groups you'll work!
Pump it up!
What exactly does Body Pump do? In short: it trains your muscles to the limit! In 60 minutes, Les Mills (the founder of this fitness program) works through all your muscle groups. For example, after a warm-up, you start with your legs (squat track), then move on to your chest (chest track), back, triceps, biceps, glutes, shoulders, and finally, your abs.
You can do it with a barbell
You don't need much for a BodyPump class. Actually, a barbell with various weights is enough! You can order a barbell with various plates in different weight classes from us. Because each track requires a different weight; your legs, for example, are much stronger than your triceps.
You're constantly active throughout the tracks. Full range, pulses, half range—it's all included. You can try out all the releases via the Les Mills app. A new release is released every quarter. This way, you'll continue to challenge your muscles, but over the course of a quarter, you can get used to the exercises and gradually increase the weight. A super fun way to train!
Endurance of your muscles
With Body Pump, you shouldn't expect to get your muscles completely pumped up. This workout focuses on muscle endurance. This way, you train your muscles differently, developing lean yet strong muscles. You achieve this by doing more repetitions with lighter weights. Each track continuously works a specific muscle group, and tracks last around three to four minutes. So, it's quite different from strength training, where you do fewer repetitions with heavier weights. The combination can be especially beneficial for your body!
