Which cardio equipment is right for you?
MAXXUS offers a variety of cardio equipment. Want to do more cardio, but aren't sure which machine is best for you? Below, we'll discuss the differences and similarities between a treadmill, elliptical, and rowing machine.
Treadmill
With a treadmill, you primarily train your lower body, as you walk or run on it. You don't actually use your arms. A treadmill is therefore primarily good for improving your fitness and losing weight. You burn a lot of calories by running, of course. Treadmills often come with various workout programs, allowing you to train in your preferred way.
Cross trainer
Besides improving your fitness and weight loss, a cross trainer can also improve your strength. You train not only your lower body, but your entire body (full body) with a cross trainer. This is because you also hold handles, so you're moving your arms as well. Cross trainers often include various training programs, allowing you to practice one of them in addition to regular training.
Rowing machine
A rowing machine is primarily suitable for building muscle mass, so it's great for strength training. It also improves your fitness and helps you lose weight. The advantage of a rowing machine is that it doesn't put pressure on your joints. This makes it suitable for all ages. A cross trainer, however, puts more pressure on your joints, making it unsuitable for everyone.
All three of these cardio machines are therefore effective for training your endurance and fitness, and for weight loss. However, if you also want to build muscle mass in addition to losing weight and improving your fitness, a cross trainer or rowing machine is a better option.
How do you maintain motivation?
Now that you've decided which device you'd like to use, the next step is to stay motivated. Try to schedule fixed times each week to exercise and think about what you want to do beforehand so you're well-prepared. This way, you know in advance when you'll be exercising, which often helps with motivation.
