Which sports can I do outside?
When people hear about outdoor sports, they often only think of running. However, there are many more activities you can do outdoors if running isn't your favorite. For example, you can go cycling (alone, or with a friend, neighbor, or partner). You can take a regular bike, but mountain biking or road cycling are also options.
Other outdoor sports include hiking, rollerblading, and boot camp. Besides these activities, there are also plenty of team sports you can enjoy outdoors, such as beach volleyball, badminton, stand-up paddleboarding, soccer, hockey, and much more.
Fan of strength training?
If you're a strength training fan, you can, of course, do it outdoors. You can bring your own dumbbells , kettlebells, or resistance bands to do all your exercises outdoors. If you like to combine strength training with cardio, you can go for a run or do a few minutes of jump rope before starting your workout.
What is important?
Before you head outside to exercise, we might have a few helpful tips for you. Because you'll encounter all sorts of surfaces outdoors (sand, grass, stone, asphalt, etc.), it's important to have the right shoes. If you're going to practice a specific sport, you can get the right shoes for it. If you're going to practice multiple sports, it might be best to consult the retailer to see which outdoor shoes are most suitable.
Staying hydrated is also crucial when exercising. So make sure you have plenty of water with you. You'll sweat more on warmer days, especially, so it's extra important to stay hydrated. It's also important to protect your skin from the sun on hot days, so don't forget to apply sunscreen!
Enjoy the outdoors!
Exercising outdoors has many advantages over exercising indoors. You'll save on monthly fees by not having to pay a membership fee, but you can also enjoy nature more often and get some vitamin D. The possibilities of the outdoors are endless: you can cycle or run, or even play team sports like badminton or volleyball. Strength training is also easy to do outdoors. Make exercising outdoors even more fun by finding a workout buddy!
